Technician with BSL-3 lab experience (location Schaijk)
Task
In this position you are involved in the activities associated with our preclinical services at our facility located in Schaijk. You contribute to important research such as the development of a SARS-CoV-2 vaccine. It is important that you have experience in working in a BSL-3 lab. You will be working with biosafety level 3 classified pathogens such as Rabies, Avian flu, and Polioviruses. Your team consists of several motivated technicians and scientists.
The following tasks will be a part of your responsibilities:
- You perform laboratory tests according to procedures and high quality standards; ISO15189 and GLP;
- You are responsible for carrying out laboratory tests such as virus neutralization, virus titer determination, and PCR;
- You participate in general lab tasks such as lab cleaning and temperature monitoring of equipment;
- You prepare and organize experiments in order to produce reliable and precise data;
- You perform hands-on laboratory work, independently or together with colleagues.
Personal competences
We are looking for a colleague who will work in a quality-oriented manner and has an eye for detail in diagnostic functions. Because you work in a team, it is important that you have good communication skills. Our customers are king, working in a service-oriented manner and thinking along with the customer is therefore a must. Flexibility and being able to oversee several tasks at the same time is important.
Required education and experience
We set the following requirements for your experience and education:
- We prefer at least 2-3 years of experience in a comparable positions;
- Completed laboratory education;
- It is favorable when you are art. 13f of 9 certified to carry out preclinical biotechnical handlings.
- Experience in working with pathogenic micro-organisms (BSL-2, BSL-3);
- Excellent English language skills, both verbally and written.
Terms of employment
Our position Technican is a new position for 32-40 hours a week. We offer you a salary that corresponds with your education, experience and our company policy. We offer you a one-year contract with the possibility of extension and a permanent contract upon good performance. Furthermore, you will receive 8% holiday allowance and travel allowance.
